Minimum salary for ILR forces lower paid staff out of the country after 6 years

The long-awaited fixed minimum salary threshold for ILR applicants is due to come into force on 6 April 2016, with the salary set at £35,000 p.a. for two years, rising to £35,500 on 6 April 2018, £35,800 on 6 April 2019 and £36,200 on 6 April 2020.

The new Health Surcharge

Since 6 April 2015 a new Health surcharge of £200 p.a. (£150 p.a. for Tier 4 students) has been levied to all but Australian and New Zealand citizens applying to come to the UK or extend their stay in the UK for more than six months.
