Seasonal Worker (Temporary Work)
Exciting news for the agricultural industry – the Seasonal Worker (Temporary Work) visa pathway has been extended!
This visa is specifically designed to facilitate the entry of migrants into the UK who engage in seasonal work within the horticulture sector (such as fruit, vegetable, and flower picking) or the poultry sector under the sponsorship of an approved government entity.
Originally scheduled to conclude in 2024, the Home Office recently announced a five-year extension until 2029. This extension provides employers with additional time to explore automation solutions or meet their recruitment needs from the existing workforce in the UK.
In 2025, there will be 43,000 visas available in the horticulture sector and 2,000 in the poultry sector. Further details on quotas for 2026 and beyond will be disclosed later this year.
