UK ENIC Proof of English Assessments
If you are 18 years or older and plan to work, study, apply for leave to remain in the UK, or seek British citizenship, you must demonstrate English language proficiency.
Please note that we do not provide assistance in obtaining an ENIC or proof of English Language Assessments.
This can be fulfilled by possessing a degree-level qualification taught or researched in English. If you studied abroad, you need to confirm that your qualification is equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD in the UK.
Learn how to meet the English language requirement and verify your qualifications through UK ENIC. Explore the ECCTIS here - Visas and Nationality Services (ecctis.com)

Visas and Nationality Services
The Visas and Nationality services, delivered under contract with the Home Office, allows migrants with overseas degrees to meet requirements on English language proficiency and the standards and authenticity of qualifications as required by the immigration rules.
Specifically, these services allow individuals to:
- Prove English language proficiency by aligning Bachelor, Master’s or PhD degree(s) to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and confirming their academic level;
- Demonstrate the eligibility to qualify for tradeable points under the Skilled Worker route by proving the level and authenticity of PhDs.
Nationals from non-English speaking countries can no longer use the Points Calculator to show they have a degree that was taught in English, Instead they must submit their degree certificate, Transcript and MOI letter from their University to UK NARIC who will examine these and, if acceptable, issue a Statement of Comparability and English Language Assessment.
Even those in English-speaking countries, other than the UK, must still provide a Statement of Comparability to show their degree is comparable to a UK degree.
UK ENIC
UK ENIC is the designated United Kingdom national agency for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and skills.
Operating under contract to the Department for Education (DfE), UK ENIC serves as the UK’s information point on the recognition of overseas qualifications. We also provide the only official source of information on international education systems and qualifications attained from outside the UK, as prescribed by the Lisbon Recognition Convention.
UK ENIC is part of the European Network of Information Centres (ENICs) and the wider ENIC-NARIC network.
What is a NARIC certificate?
A NARIC certificate is an official document that provides a comprehensive evaluation and recognition of your educational qualifications obtained outside of the United Kingdom. It is issued by the National Recognition Information Centre for the United Kingdom (NARIC) and serves as proof of the equivalence of your qualifications in the UK.
Why do you need a NARIC certificate?
Obtaining a NARIC certificate is crucial if you are planning to work, study, or immigrate to the UK. Many employers, educational institutions, and immigration authorities require a NARIC certificate to assess the level and validity of your qualifications. It ensures that your international qualifications are recognized and valued in the UK, opening up various opportunities for you
