It is a permit that allows individuals to work and live in the UK while maintaining their residence in another country. This unique permit is specifically designed for individuals who frequently cross the UK border for work purposes.

Who is eligible for a UK Frontier Work Permit?

This permit is available to individuals who are employed in a qualifying role and who have been offered a job or contract by a UK-based employer. It is important to note that this permit is not available to self-employed individuals.

  • you live outside of the UK.

  • If you are an Irish citizen, you do not need to apply for a Frontier Worker permit, but you can choose to do so.
  • You cannot apply if you are a British citizen (this includes dual citizenship).

It offers flexibility and convenience for those who have established lives in their home country but wish to explore job opportunities in the UK.
