eVisas

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is developing an innovative digital immigration system that will replace physical documents with an online record of your immigration status known as an eVisa.

Millions of customers have already received their eVisa online since 2018.

An eVisa is an online record that contains information about your immigration status and the conditions of your permission to enter or stay in the UK.

To access and share this information securely with third parties, you will need to register for a UKVI account. You will even be able to use your eVisa to travel to the UK soon, eliminating the need to carry a physical document.

The benefits of eVisas are that they are highly secure, and proving your status at the UK border will be quicker and easier.

If you currently have permission to stay in the UK and possess a physical document that proves your immigration status, you do not need to take any action at this time.

Throughout 2024, updates will be provided on when you will be required to register for a UKVI account.
