Expanding Youth Mobility Schemes Between the UK and South Korea
Exciting new opportunities for young individuals to embark on life-changing experiences.
Starting from 31 January 2024, the number of South Korean nationals eligible to apply for the Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) visa will rise significantly from 1,000 to 5,000 per year. Additionally, the age limit will also extend from 18 to 30, to a new range of 18 to 35.
South Korean nationals who are interested in applying for the YMS visa will no longer be required to register their interest in a ballot. Instead, they can submit their applications at any time from 31 January, if they meet the necessary eligibility criteria.
This new expansion ensures that a greater number of South Korean nationals between the ages of 18 and 35 will have the chance to live and work in the UK.
