The Immigration Health Surcharge Reimbursement Service
If you hold a relevant visa and have worked in health and social care continuously for at least 6 months starting on or after 31 March 2020, you may be eligible for a reimbursement of your Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
Any dependants may also be eligible for a reimbursement if they have paid the IHS or the IHS has been paid for them.
You will need to apply for reimbursements on a 6-monthly basis, when you have worked for an average of at least 16 hours per week over the full 6 months. These reimbursements will be processed in six-month instalments in arrears.
You may only claim a reimbursement if they have paid the IHS in conjunction with a visa you are currently on.
To make an application for reimbursement of the IHS visit the online portal.
The Immigration Health Surcharge Reimbursement Service only deals with queries regarding applications made online for a reimbursement of Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) for someone working in health and social care and if the claimant does not hold a Tier 2 or Skilled Worker visa.
If you are on a Tier 2 general visa, or a Skilled Worker visa, and work in an eligible health or social care occupation, or if you are requesting a refund for a different reason, you should not claim a reimbursement through this scheme. Instead, you would need to contact UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) directly. Please see the link below for their contact information:

Further information regarding claiming a refund of your IHS can be found on the Home Office website.
